DB33 FX-64 is not playing nicely with Cubase 8.5 on windows 10 when used as an insert effect.
The second I insert it Cubase crashes without a warning. It closes down abruptly without even giving me an error message.
I am using the latest Cubase patch etc.
Hello i can confirm this on Win 7 64bit Home Premium.
My full systemspecs:
CPU: Core I7 2600
Mobo: Asus P8H67 M-EVO REV3 BIOS 3703
RAM: 16GB Gskill Ripjaws DDR3-1333
Interface: M-Audio fast track ultra 8r asiodriver 6.1.9 (latest version)
Cubase 8.5.20 64bit
Latest chipsetdrivers, all is up to date
When i insert DB-33 as a FX insert on any track i imediatly get cubase to crash. the error is regarding an access violation cx0000005 involving the C Runtime Library file MSVCR80.dll
As an instrument it doesn't crash cubase.
i tested in Reaper. There it doesn't crash. But i also found the reason for the crashes. I am not sure if cubase or the plugin is the problem. When inserting the plugin on a mono audio track (wich isn't really usefull i know :) ) it imediatly crashes cubase. Inserting on a stereo chanel works fine. Also i can set the plugin insert routing from stereo to Mono on a stereo track wich normaly is not possible and imediately get a crash as well
im am not sure but i thinks its the combination of both Cubase and DB33fx. Reaper to my understanding doesnt provide real mono routing throught the insert chain wich is probably why it is not crashing.
for instance your Stereowidth plugin wich by design is also a stereo plugin does not crash when in insert it on a mono track. I also can not switch the insert routing to mono on a stereo track like i shown in the pictures with db33fx. The function is not ment to switch stereo plugins to mono.
